1) In 2001 Durex (the condom manufacturer) conducted a survey through their website. They asked men to self-measure their penis size and send them via Internet. Nearly 3000 men took part in this penis size survey. Here are the results:

- The average circumference (measured round the penis at its widest point) was 5.2 inches (13.3 cm)

It is really difficult to trust at 100% to those self-measurement surveys, as there is always a great chance of supersizing and wishful thinking involved. 2) In 2001 Lifestyles Condom Company conducted a survey in Cancun, Mexico. The company itself claims this was largest and most accurate measure of penis size ever. Nearly 300 men took part in this survey that was conducted in a private tent outside Daddy Rock nightclub by a doctor and two nurses. Dr. Francisco Ordonez who supervised the research said "It was a highly professional operation." Here are the results:

- The average erect penis length was about 5.9 inches.
- The average erect penis girth was about 5 inches.

It’s funny to notice that when professional penis measurers get to work, the average penis size is always under 6 inches (Lifestyles Condom Company survey). The answer is simple – there is no survey that has the time or the finances to measure every erect penis around the globe. Bottom line

1940s – The first report on average penis size. This is the earliest survey on penis size ever conducted. It was performed by Alfred Kinsey, of the famed Kinsey Institute. His report claimed that that the average erect penis was 6.2 to 6.4 inches in length. As you may have already guessed it was a self-measurement survey among Caucasian men only.
